Jonathan Simon is a graduate of Harvard College , New York University School of Law, and New York Chiropractic College .  He is a member of the Bar of Massachusetts and also directs a health clinic in Cambridge . As a result of his prior experience as a political survey research analyst for Peter D. Hart Research Associates in Washington, Dr. Simon became an early advocate for an exit poll-based "burglar alarm" system, independent of media and corporate control, to detect computerized vote shifting in Election 2004. Forced to rely instead on "official" exit polling, Dr. Simon was able to capture critical data briefly posted on the web prior to its election-night disappearance, data which served as a primary basis for analysis of the accuracy of the 2004 vote count.  Dr. Simon is a member of Alliance for Democracy and We Do Not Concede, and has worked closely with the National Ballot Integrity Project and CAEF. He is also at work on a book to be entitled While America Slept: The Theft of Election 2004 and the Death of American Democracy. Dr. Simon is deeply skeptical about the impact of current federal legislative electoral reform proposals and believes that a restoration of fair and honorable elections will depend primarily on continuing analysis of voting systems now in place coupled with the introduction of working paper ballot-based alternative models at the state and local levels.
