ROBERTS WAS BUSH'S PRIVATE ATTORNEY-
HOW IS THIS NOT A CONFLICT OF INTERESTS
WITH ROBERT'S NOMINATION?
Bush is still in office. If the fetid winds from New Orleans keep blowing toward Washington , current point man Chertoff will drown in his own Federalist criminal negligence gumbo. Then guess who's next for public scrutiny? That's right - New Orleans ' own MR. BUTTONGATE - Bush himself.
How could Roberts possibly preside fairly over a Bush impeachment hearing (which would be his role as Chief Justice)? How could he objectively review Hurricane Katrina-related cases against Bush and the government (there will inevitably be class action suits) given Roberts' extensive and varied professional dealings with Bush?
The fact that Roberts' was - and could again be - Bush's private attorney, creates a serious and unresolvable conflict of interests. On this basis alone, Roberts' nomination should be voted down.
Just my opinion. What's yours?
