A correction to our previous report on an apparent remarkable symmetry in
the New Hampshire statewide optical and hand-count tallies for Clinton and Obama (head-to-head comparison), and updated download files are now available at www.electiondefensealliance.org .
Although the disparity between the head-to-head percentage margins for Obama and Clinton tabulated on optical scanners vs. counted by hand is no longer precisely flipped to four decimal places, the updated data still shows a dramatic disparity when calculated head-to-head::
Head to head comparison - corrected numbers
Clinton: statewide optical scan tally
95,843 52.73%
Obama: statewide optical scan tally
85,910 47.27%
Clinton: statewide hand-count tally
16,767 46.75%
Obama: hand count
19,097 53.25%
1/5 - 1/7 Real Clear Politics seven poll average (head-to-head pairing)
Clinton 43.9%
Obama 56.1%.
The closeness of the match of the two candidates hand-count with the Real
Clear Politics seven-poll average (1/5 - 1/7/08) - and the divergence of
the optical scan tally - remains under investigation.
