| EDITORIALS REGARDING NEOCON'S NEW WORLD ORDER ________________________________________________________ Is Washington Planning a Military Strike on Iran? preparing its allies for an imminent military strike against facilities that are part of Iran's suspected clandestine nuclear weapons program. action against Iran if Tehran continues to pursue its controversial nuclear ambitions. But in Germany, speculation is mounting that Washington is preparing to carry out air strikes against suspected Iranian nuclear sites perhaps even as soon as early 2006. __________________________________________________________________________ Bush Is Cooking Up Two More Wars by Paul Craig Roberts Mired in interminable conflict in Iraq and Afghanistan, the Bush administration is moving toward initiating two more wars, one with Iran and one with North Korea. With no US troops available, the Bush administration is revamping US war doctrine to allow for "preventative nuclear attack." In short, the Bush administration is planning to make the US the first country in history to initiate war with nuclear weapons. The Pentagon document, "Doctrine for Joint Nuclear Operations," calls for the use of nuclear weapons against non-nuclear adversaries in order "to ensure success of US and multinational operations." In the case of Iran and North Korea, the Bush administration is using diplomacy not for diplomatic purposes of reaching agreements, but in order to set the two countries up for nuclear attack. In the case of Iran, the Bush administration's plan is now obvious. The Bush administration is leveling false charges against Iran, just as it did against Iraq, of conspiring to make nuclear weapons. These charges are known to be false by the Bush administration and by the entire world. ______________________________________________________________________________ 'Condi to Europe: 'Trust me'' Paul Craig Roberts, Antiwar.com deny that the U.S. government in an operation known as rendition kidnaps people, often the wrong ones, and flies them to foreign countries to be tortured. Ahern said Rice told him in Washington she expected allies to trust that America does not allow rights abuses." ______________________________________________________________________________ Is it a state of crisis yet? Syria very, very seriously. Not only are stories of such threats appearing at an increasing rate in antiwar journals and websites, they now seem to be a topic of concern on Capitol Hill and at the United Nations. Condi Rice, the war hound that she is, made it quite clear that the White House considers it to be its prerogative (and only its prerogative) to militarily attack these countries if it so desires. ____________________________________________________________________ Karen Hughes’ Indonesia Visit Underscores Bush Administration’s PR Problems It is doubtful that the Bush administration will be very successful advancing America’s image in the Islamic world as long as its representatives have such trouble telling the truth. A case in point took place on October 21, when U.S. Undersecretary of State for Public Diplomacy Karen Hughes was talking before a group of university students in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, the world’s largest Muslim country. As she has found elsewhere in her visits in the Islamic world, there is enormous popular opposition to the U.S. invasion of Iraq and the ongoing U.S. counter-insurgency war. __________________________________________________________________________
PARIS - The call by Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadinejad on Wednesday for Israel to be "wiped off the map" has drawn instant and bitter condemnation, with Israel urging Iran's expulsion from the United Nations, and other countries saying that Tehran should now definitely be hauled before the UN Security Council over its nuclear program. Ahmadinejad's outburst, however, also signifies deep rifts within the country between his administration and Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and his small clique that ultimately controls the levers of power. __________________________________________________ October 26, 2005: “ We are all back with you again after a brief pause over the intense scrutiny over the Libby/Rove matter. Here is some information, reasonably detailed, that should be of interest. If you will remember, on Monday, February 14, 2005, “Rafiq Hariri, five times Lebanese prime minister, multibillionaire, builder of a country devastated by 15 years of civil war, was assassinated by a huge car bomb that ravaged the Lebanese capital’s seafront. Last year, Hariri stepped down in protest against the extension of pro-Syrian president Emile Lahoud’s presidency and was about to take the lead of the opposition. A towering figure in Lebanese politics, Hariri was expected to fight the election due to take place in April or May ….” (From an Israeli report) The flap over the Plame business pales into insignificance alongside this assassination. Syria was quickly blamed by both the U.S. and Israel and now let us consider what this was. IN certain exalted circles in the Bush Administration, it is known who did this.
